part II : the beach

sunburn..

On our backs we lay just you and I, the warm sand surrounding us. High above, the summer sun peers down from the soft pastel sky. The gigantic clouds glide pass each other, in and then out of sight. If not for the two birds fluttering about, the sky would seem as if it were a painting done by a gigantic brush.

We just lay there, without uttering a single word to each other; we listen to the sound of waves crashing against the shore. In front of us, the endless ocean seems to go on forever, revealing the perfect horizon in the distance. All thoughts seemed to have escaped my mind, a sudden evaporation.

Leaving the rest of the world behind, we allow our consciousness to wander. The salty breeze strokes our skin as it passes into another place and time. So still, like small particles we appear to become a part of the infinite landscape.
